pacerpole -BASIC WALKING ON LEVEL GROUND-

Keeping the spine vertical allows the ribcage to fully expand for better breathing.

Shoulder girdle muscles train together to keep the bones in-place.
The girdle is over the pelvis so the spine remains straight;this better posture optimises the direction of body load through the joints.

Don't grip the handle, push against it(just slight pressure between thumb and index to retain the pole).

Shaft tip placement is generally under the shoulder so as you push down against the handle near your side, the arm's leverage is lifting you upwards and forward-just as the legs leverage is lifting you upwards and forwards at each stride(which is why when you see a crowd of people walking, their heads are bobbing up-and-down).
